Coming to church for your wedding and making your vows before God surrounded by your family and friends is an important and exciting step in the journey of your life.
We believe that marrying in church makes a uniquely moving and joyful start to married life.
At St. Peters Tankersley, we are blessed with a beautiful and ancient building where we can provide church bells, an organist and a warm welcome.
To marry in our church, St Peter’s should be the parish church where one of you lives, or due to a recent change in the law, hold some special significance for you. Even if you live outside the parish, you may still be able to hold your ceremony at St Peter’s .
We also arrange marriage preparation meetings at which you are able to meet other couples as you prepare together for the big day.
The Church of England website provides some helpful information about the legal aspects of a church wedding, including the changes introduced from 1st October 2008.
